Recent studies concluded that Hawaii family vacations rated number one among 2006 hot family vacation destinations. One third of the respondents think a beach house in Hawaii would be the best family vacation.

The second rated among desired family vacation destinations was Caribbean or Mexico family cruise vacations. The cruise and Hawaiian beach house proved to be the most gender-safe vacation options. More than four fifths of 16 to 20 year-old respondents favored the Hawaii family vacation or cruise to any other vacation choice.

More than 60 million tourists traveled to Hawaii in 2006 alone reported by the State of Hawaii's Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism. In addition, the top ten family resorts stated by Travel and Leisure Magazine are the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Four Seasons Resort Haulalai at Historic Kaupulehu, the two on the Big Island.  Family cruise vacations also rated very high among the respondents. Interesting enough is the fact 25-34 year-old women mostly preferred a Disney family vacation.  Overall, fifteen percent of the men liked the Lake Tahoe family vacation the most, and the Disney vacation represented seven percent the least.
